Why Microneedling?

If you've tried all the creams and magic serums in the world yet are still looking for an effective way to treat fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars, large pores, and loss of skin volume, you might want to try microneedling.

What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment in which a dermatologist or aesthetician creates tiny punctures in the skin using micro-fine needles (from 0.25 to 2.5 millimeters). This triggers the body’s wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Additionally, once punctures are made, products can be applied topically (such as hyaluronic acid and vitamin C ) which are able to penetrate deeper into the skin in order to work more effectively.

We also use the BioPelle Tensage 40 ampoules post needling to greatly reduce the redness and inflammation and dryness that sometime accompanies the Micro-needle treatments. This expedites healing which means no down time and no pain or discomfort. Patients can resume their normal activity the very next day.

Is there any discomfort?

None whatsoever, we use a special compounded prescription numbing cream applied 20 min before your treatment to make you very comfortable and pain free during your treatment and we use the the only FDA Approved Medical Device in the USA (SkinPen device) to deliver optimal results! Results can be seen in 5 to 7 days with increasing improvements over time. A series of 4 to 6 treatments spaced one month apart are suggested for best results. Maintenance is only 2 to 3 times per year. Total treatment time is 60 minutes.

The SkinPen FDA Cleared Device

The SkinPen Precision system is the only Class II, FDA cleared microneedling device legally marketing in the U.S.

The SkinPen microneedling device causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. The micro-injuries trigger the release of cytokines and growth factors that lead to remodeling of collagen and elastin.

How Does the SkinPen Device work to reduce wrinkles and acne scaring?

The wound is re-built with new granulation cells, as well as a temporary (type III) collagen and elastin, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops. 2

The wound has been replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels. The type III collagen in the newly formed tissue is replaced with stronger type I collagen, which can contract to create a tightening or “shrink wrap” effect on the skin.3
